She discusses how she repossessed her bold childhood nature to become her own brand and envision her life’s next great destination.
After Bevy’s talk, we will spend the next 15 minutes discussing the importance of goal setting and how you and I can work together to curate your personal Peace by Design Session for yourself or your crew.
The last 15 minutes of our time together is designated for Q&A.
2023 isn’t wasting anytime getting here. Make sure you are ready to start it off right with Renewed Vision, Peace Goals and an Action Plan for Peace!
I pray all is well for you. It has been soooo long since my last post. Things turned extremely busy for me at the end of 2020. I will spare you all the details but please know that I was thinking of you daily and quietly praying for your success.
With that being said, “I’m Back!”
For my first post of 2021, I want to talk to you about Confidence, and the importance of nuturing it daily.
What is your personal definition of Confidence. The textbook definition of Confidence is “possessing the feeling or belief that one can rely on someone or something; firm trust. My definition varies a little. I believe Confidence is utilizing your ability to be present and engaging. We all know it’s one thing to show up, but there’s a whole different level to engaging once you are in the room. With COVID-19 throwing many of us into remote situations, we haven’t had to show up like we were accustomed to in the past. Some of our Zoom Calls consist of a pretty blouse and some sweats or that morning routine that would usually take an hour has now been reduced to 15 mins of a quick shower, slicked back hairstyles and a quick run down the steps to your home office. We know this pandemic won’t last forever so now is the perfect time to plan our comeback.
Oh and Sis, how’s your dating life? Those of us single ladies who had plans to “get our groove back” in 2020 were completly side lined, plans were totally derailed! How many of us are approaching that age where we want to get out of the house more but COVID-19 has us messed up ASF.
It’s alot! It’s way too much to write about, but I’m here with a Confidence Reminder.
You Are A Maker of Pretty Things!
Your confidence, your character, your demeanor, your beauty, your attire, and your boldness all make up the person you are, and that is a Maker of Pretty Things!
It’s the small things like taking accountability and showing up for yourself (even when no one is watching) that accentuate your uniqueness, nuture your confidence and make you PRETTY!
So let’s put in some work!

Imagine lying comfortably on your bed gazing up at the ceiling. Picture little thought bubbles floating in the air above you and each bubble is filled with a short phrase or descriptive word. One bubble says loyal, the next says smart and the next one says dependable. The next bubble you see says lazy, followed by hopeless and disgusting. It’s amazing how the messages in the bubbles changed but your position didn’t. You’re still the same loyal, smart and reliable person who’s relaxing on the bed. The only thing that changed was your mind. You allowed your thoughts to go off course and disrupt your peace.
You have the power to choose your thoughts. You can decide which thought bubbles fit your life.
Our thoughts are the means in which we communicate to ourself. Its our self-talk.
What are you saying to yourself?
Do your thoughts empower you or do they make you feel weak? Does your self-talk make you feel strong or does it make you feel incapable?
Positive self affirmations are an excellent tool to help you manage the way that you speak to yourself. Practice reciting the following three affirmations to help you get started.
1. I am wonderfully created.
2. I am here to fulfill a unique purpose.
3. I purposely demonstrate love to others.
Now ceate your own affirmations and watch how amazing you feel after reciting them.
Creating more Peace in our lives begins with changing our thought process and mindset. The way that we think about a thing ultimately shapes your beliefs about the experience and the outcome.
I realize that we live in an world of uncertainty but how much more could we enjoy the life that we’ve been given by simply changing how we think.
Lets talk about fear-based thinking and how it causes us to live a defeated life.
Fear based thinking is defined as having a mindset that focuses on limiting beliefs. What ever opportunities arise, a fear-based thinker will find a reason not to show up for the challenge. Many people miss out on travel opportunities and career advancement because of a fear of uncertainty. Constantly dwelling on why an action shouldn’t be completed instead of focusing on the numerous benefits that a good opportunity can bring is absolutely numbing.
It’s a known fact that you will accomplish every limit that you set for yourself. If you constantly focus on not being able to afford certain things, then you will never afford it. If you focus on never being able to take a vacation, you will never go. If you truly want to be happy and find Peace within, drop the fear, take action and live your best life!
I’ve laid out three easy to implement tips that will help you eliminate fear-based thinking.
Set goals and take intentional action to accomplish them.
Practice the art of NOW and stop procrastinating.
Establish your choices in truth and stand firm in your decisions.
By taking these steps you’re building your self-esteem, becoming more confident, wiping out fear and establishing Peace!
Trades of Hope empowers women out of poverty around the world while creating entrepreneurial opportunities for the modern American woman by selling ethically produced fashion accessories and home décor.
So many women live in poverty, not because they lack abilities, but because they lack opportunity. Trades of Hope was started to give women the opportunity for a better life. Each woman has a story, and with Trades of Hope’s help, their story has changed from pain and struggle to a story of hope!
We work with the artisans themselves and organizations that are helping women in difficult circumstances. Some women have been rescued from sex slavery. Others are raising handicapped children alone. Some are in war torn countries and others have aids and leprosy. These women have never had the chances we’ve had, yet they are just like us in so many ways. They love their families and hope and dream of a better life for them.
If you’re local to the Charlotte Metro area, JOIN me for a Trades of Hope Party. You will have the opportunity to order one of a kind items for Mother’s Day, grab unique graduation gifts and learn more about how this wonderful ministry is helping to pull women out of poverty. Keeping our elders safe is a “peacekeeping” tactic that everyone can embrace. As a community it’s up to each individual to watch out for the safety and well-being of one another. Numerous stories in the media detailing how trusting elderly citizens are falling victim to scams and losing their life savings to the fake promise of love are becoming very prominent. Dr. Phil has featured many of these stories on his show to help raise awareness and equip people with the knowledge of this cruel and heartless scheme.
Sweetheart Scams are known as the act of preying upon a victim for financial gain, while deceitfully promising them love. These cruel acts of intention can be played out online or in person. The perpetrator convinces their victim that they are madly in love and then plays on their emotions to cheat them out of large sums of money. It’s sad to say that many elderly men and women have fallen victim and lost millions of dollars.
The recent story of Georgia Muller caught my attention. Ms. Muller, a great grand-mother who loves to paint and post her pictures on Facebook was targeted by someone online pretending to be the Captain of a ship. The more they communicated with one another the more Ms. Muller developed an emotional bond with the pretend Captain. He would send her poems and love notes and she enjoyed the attention. When the time was right, Ms. Muller was asked to wire several hundred dollars to the Captain. Luckily for Muller her internal instincts alerted her that this was a case of fraud.
My appeal to you today is to become more active in the life of an elderly person. Take a vested interest in your loved ones to ensure that they are not falling victim to the schemes, strategies or plots of the enemy. As the bible says, our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against rulers, authorities and power in the dark places. The enemy attacks us at our weakest moments and wages an all out war on our self-identity and our emotional being.
Send me a comment and let me know how you plan to become more active with the elders in your family and community.
There are several different ways that the elderly are being deceived out of their money. Some of the tactics that are being used are threats and deceit, pressure tactics, jury scams, computer scams, financial planning scams and home renovation scams.
If you suspect that and elderly family member of friend is in trouble there are three things that you can do to help.
Go to IC3.gov. The FBI runs the site. It lists various scams and even buzzwords to listen for.
Go to FBI.gov. It also lists scams and how to spot them.
