LOL!

Psalm 46:1-3 God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; though its waters roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with its swelling. KJV

No matter what situation we find ourselves faced with, we must be determined to LOL! Not “laugh out loud”, but “lean on the Lord!”

We serve a God who is able to completely do anything and with him all things are possible!

That issue you are facing, God knows about it. That hardship that seems to be too much for you to bear, God knows about that too and he wants you to lean on him for help. Remember that we are the branches and Jesus is the vine that continuously sustains us! Stay connected!

The next time you see the phrase LOL! I dare you to consider it a personal invitation to, “Lean on the Lord!”

“Lean on the Lord”, and this too shall pass!

Much Love,

~SuGa~

My Spirit Rejoices!

From my heart…

Your riches and glory in my life story help me remain humble and prayerful when I stumble

I’m reminded in weakness that you make me strong.

I’m encouraged to move forward and keep walking along.

I’m confident that you hold great plans for my future

You love me and protect me and my spirit you nurture

Glorify me Lord so that you may be glorified

Lift me up Father and help keep me from pride

Save me from myself and let your peace guide my path

Mold me, shape me and perfect me in my craft

Create in me a new heart and clean spirit

May your will be done and let it be deliberate

For your love is true and will never fade away

Thank you for my purpose and for blessing me this day!

I always thank my God!

Philemon 1: 1-6   I always thank my God as I remember you in my prayers, because I hear about your love for all his holy people and your faith in the Lord Jesus. I pray that your partnership with us in the faith may be effective in deepening your understanding of every good thing we share for the sake of Christ.

Fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. Your love and devotion to furthering God’s Kingdom make Jesus more real to me and more attractive to those who are still searching and questioning. I stand in awe at the tireless efforts you exhibit by offering words of encouragement, lending a helping hand or posting an inspirational blog. It’s not by accident that we cross one another’s paths…it’s all planned, all staged and all set up by our omniscient, omnipresent Savior. I thank my God every single time that you and your work cross my mind. I thank my God for the undying love that you exhibit even when you’re the one standing in need of love.

I am forever grateful for you and most humbled that so many people choose to follow my blog.

My postings have been sparse lately..mainly because God is doing a new thing in me and I want that to be reflective of what SuGa represents. As I go deeper in Christ and get more comfortable with who I am, and the woman who God has purposed me to be….I understand that me…the one …with all the baggage…all the mistakes…all the heartbreak…all the celebrations…and most of all……..The Testimonies…I was saved and called to help advance God’s Kingdom and so were you!

Let’s keep praying together, sharing inspiration and deepening our understanding of every good thing we share for the sake of Christ! Thank you WordPress family and may God continue to bless each of you richly!

Fan or Follower?

II Chronicles 7:14 14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

I found this great show on TBN a few weeks ago entitled “Not A Fan.” I love this show because it details how one man’s quest to be a fully committed follower of Christ affected his friends, family and the people that he served. Each episode reveals characteristics that we all have and beckon us to ask ourselves are we really followers of Christ or simply fans of his? Do we live out his word or do we simply know what his word says? It was no coincidence that I happened upon this series. My family and I visited the bookstore around Christmas time and my husband picked up a wristband that said Not A Fan. I asked him what does that mean and he had no idea. A few days later while flipping through the channel guide, I saw the words…Not A Fan…I’ve been hooked ever since and God has had my full attention.

I am so quick to confess my love for Christ and I often describe my heartbeat as a song with a chorus that says…..”Go God, Go God, Go God!…But really, there are quite a few things that I could do better in my life. I am a woman who stands on Luke 1:45 Blessed is she who believes that what the Lord has said to her will be accomplished…..But what about…Blessed is she who does what the Lord says to her.  On my best day…I’m kind of hit and miss but I want to change that.  I want my communication line to Heaven…to be open and free. I want the Glory of the Lord to pass so close to my face that the only words that come to mind are…The Glory, The Glory. The Glory!

I am on a mission to be a Fully, Committed Follower of Christ. My first step is to  find out what that means for me. If you are interested in strengthen your walk, simply look to his word for understanding. “He who follows righteousness and mercy Finds life, righteousness, and honor.”        Proverbs 21:21 NKJV

May God continuously bless you!

I’m Beyond Hurt

Reblog from Proverbs 31 Ministries…Encouragement for Today

Enjoy!

February 1, 2012

I’m Beyond Hurt Melissa Taylor

“All your words are true…” Psalm 119:160 (NIV)

I’m beyond hurt.

I’m beyond confused.

I’m beyond stressed.

I’m beyond tired physically, emotionally and mentally.

I could go on and on. But then I would be beyond depressed.

When feeling like this, I realize I have to get my mind out of the gutter and anchor myself on God’s promises.

I have to be intentional to focus on a different set of “beyond” statements or I quickly find myself in a pit. I know this from experience. Even if the “beyond” statements above are true, there are others that are also true.

I am beyond blessed: From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another. John 1:16*

I am beyond strong: Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.Joshua 1:9

I am beyond secure: Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:27

I am beyond safe: Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life; you stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes, with your right hand you save me. Psalm 138:7

I am beyond hopeful: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

I am beyond loved: But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation. Psalm 13:5

I am beyond valued: For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

I am beyond forgiven: Then Jesus said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.” Luke 7:48

I am beyond found: Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, “Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.” Luke 15:4-6

I am beyond complete: So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority. Colossians 2:10 (NLT)

I can’t trust my feelings, or even circumstances, to tell me how I am. They change like the wind. Up one moment and easily shot down the next. His Word however, never changes. Its ceaseless truths go beyond emotions and whatever my day holds to anchor me to hope.

Some days, weeks or even seasons of life are discouraging and we can’t see beyond the pain, hurt and stress. Searching God’s Word for His view of our circumstances and us lifts our eyes off the problems and onto Him. He’s our ultimate source of truth and encouragement!

Dear Lord, thank You for recording Your Word for me to reflect on and find truth in. Thank You for giving hope and peace beyond my feelings and circumstances. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

A Turnaround Blessing

Genesis 50:20  But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.

Vice President Joe Biden said American aid worker Jessica Buchanan’s health was the reason President Obama authorized last night’s special operations rescue operation in Somalia.

“They said it was the time, the opportunity.  Jessica’s health was, was in a word, ‘failing,’ and they concluded they should go at this time and the president gave a go,”

Although we don’t understand everything that we have to face or endure…God does!  I have no idea what health condition Jessica Buchanan was diagnosed with.  What I do know is…this condition led to time and opportunity for her to be saved from imprisonment! Even better…her condition not only brought her out but her fellow workers as well.

Before your next pity party…take a moment and turn it into a  praise party! Praise God for continuously working in your life and on your behalf. Thank God for the right time an opportunity for breakthrough!

It’s Only Temporary

As many of you maybe, I am celebrating in God’s word, trusting and believing that trouble doesn’t last always! I was greeted with a wonderful word for Joel and Victoria Osteen this morning so here I am to share it with you.

Enjoy!

It’s Only Temporary

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

“For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all”

(2 Corinthians 4:17, NIV)

TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria

Aren’t you glad that your troubles and trials are only temporary? In fact, today’s verse tells us they are momentary. Compared with eternity, our troubles don’t last long at all! As you stand strong in faith during times of adversity, scripture says that you are achieving eternal glory. When you confess your trust and reliance on God, you are passing the test.

If you are in the middle of tough times today, look to Jesus! The Bible says that He is the Author and Finisher of your faith. He is the one who writes faith on your heart and then develops it to completion on the inside of you. Your part is to open your heart and choose words of faith and victory.

Remember, your words set the course for your life. As you remind yourself that your troubles are only momentary and confess your trust and hope in Him, you will see His hand moving in your life. Focus on that eternal glory every day. As you do, you’ll move forward in victory and experience all He has for you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Heavenly Father, thank You for working Your eternal glory in me. I cast my cares on You, knowing that my trials and troubles are only temporary. Thank You for Your eternal blessing on my life today and always in Jesus’ name. Amen.

— Joel & Victoria Osteen

Resolution 3: Fully Embrace Who I AM

Psalms 139:13-15 For you created my innermost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.

My third and final resolution for 2012:  I will completely and unconditionally love the person that I am. God created me to be wonderful, mysterious, beautiful, intelligent, resilient, creative and a whole lot more. I am tired of a cookie cutter society where everyone goes along to get along but are not fully engaged in the world around us. I am tired of the norm and I am ready to fully embrace all that lies within my innermost being! I need a drink from Jacob’s well and a fresh anointing from my Lord!

With my eyes fixed on my Sovereign Lord and my future secure in him; I am free from judgment, free from persecution and free to be the me that he created me to be! As I meditate on his word, my spirit awakens, as I entrust my life to him, I am lead to level ground.

My God does preserve my life in his righteousness, he brings me out of trouble with his unfailing love, he silences my enemies and destroys my foes. The same God examines my mind and my spirit and removes anything that is contradictory to his word.

I thank you Lord for making all things new! I thank you in this new season of life that I can fully embrace all the gifts and all the quirks that you have blessed me with. Where I am weak Lord, you make me strong and I am fully committed to you!

Resolution 1: Detox

Philippians 2:3-5 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus.

Are you expecting something new in 2012? If so, what steps have you taken to ensure your change will come. What attitudes and mindset do you need to be free of? As I ask you, I also have to ask myself, how’s your attitude and what are your motives?

One way to ensure a successful outcome is to do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. If we make a pact to put God first and not our own desires, we have God’s blessing over the decision and the outcome.

Secondly, show humility to others. Sometimes, you just have to give people the benefit of the doubt and exercise trust.

Third, check your attitude. Jesus was always willing and ready to help serve where needed. He treated others with kindness and he was never to busy to listen.

So, my first New Year’s resolution is to rid myself of selfish ambition, vain conceit, bad attitudes and negative self-talk. By doing so, I invite the attitude of Christ Jesus in my life.

Dear Lord, thank you for being a Lord of second chances and restoration. I thank you for another opportunity to experience your unfailing love for me. Father you know the meditations of my heart and my prayer is that they are pleasing and acceptable to you. Lord search my mind and my heart and remove anything that is not of you. I love you and thank you for your many blessings. In Jesus Name. Amen.

The Promise of New Life

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! II Corinthians 5:17

With the promise of a fresh start today, how do you want to begin it?

This morning I started my day with prayer, fellowship and love! As I sit laughing with my family an enjoying my morning cup of coffee, I praise God for the wonderful memories that we are making. My mind couldn’t help but consider Jesus on the cross at Calvary. As Jesus endured all the pain and suffering as humanities sins were cast on him, God had to turn away. That was a deep moment. God turned from his only begotten son so that we could all be adopted into his family, the royal priesthood! One seed was planted for a bountiful harvest!

As you spend time with family and friends this holiday weekend, remember the true meaning of Christmas and consider the sacrifice! God is good and worthy to be praised!

“Go Jesus, it’s your birthday!”

Merry Christmas to all!
