Have you ever heard of an Alone Audit?

Yes, this is totally a thing.
I discovered this phenomenon while flipping through the pages of Oprah Magazine, Live Your Best Life.
Apparently, an Alone Audit allows you to track how you spend your alone time and the activities that you prefer to do alone.
I am here for it. I think it helps you to gauge what activities you are comfortable doing on your own and which you prefer to do with a companion. It might also be helpful if you’re attempting to boost your social interactions with others. Too much alone time isn’t good. There needs to be balance.
With that said, our website, http://www.origins of peace.com will be offline during month of March while we perform some much-needed upgrades to the website and also dive into some continuous development work.
We will be offline on our website, but you can catch us in person, today February 26th from 1pm-5pm at the Cabarrus Arena in Concord, NC. We are a vendor at the Black Heritage Festival. Look for the beautiful table with the gorgeous custom Planters.
On March 11th you can find us at McGill Baptist Church in Concord, NC for the College and Career Fair. This event is hosted by the Concord Alumnae Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
I am excited to announce that Origins of Peace, LLC has been selected to participate in the Equity in Contracting program sponsored by @Wells Fargo and @CPCC. I am ecstatic and looking forward to the opportunity to grow and develop.
Thank you so much for being an active part of the Origins of Peace Community.

Mention My Name

It’s a celebration, and I could not have did it without you!

Today marks our 4-year anniversary. In true transparency, Origins of Peace has existed in many forms since 2011, but today marks four years of being intentional about our purpose, our name, and of course, our brand.

We’ve definitely come a long way by beginning as an online blog, repositioning as a community needs trainer in the back of Breakfast Time Restaurant and now transitioning into the corporate arena.

“For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.” Habakkuk 2:3-4 NKJV

Thank you to everyone that has mentioned my name and offered a word of reference on my behalf.

I am grateful!

Origins of Peace,
Melissa

Set A New Table

You deserve experiences that are uplifting, empowering, reciprocal and nourishing.

You deserve to be embraced, supported, celebrated and encouraged.

Is this your experience? Are you feeling the love? More importantly, are you feeling loved.

It is perfectly ok to dream a new dream and to create a new reality for yourself.

This goes for all aspects of life: relationships, career, health, etc…

If you are not feeling loved in all your wellness dimensions…create a new reality, set a new table but definitely let go of what no longer serves you.

Have you established expectations for what you would like to receive?

Here’s a tip: Start with love and work backwards.

If love is what you want to feel in all of your wellness dimensions, determine what’s necessary for you to achieve it?

Origins of Peace,
Melissa

Let Go to Reconnect!

Of course, you are a fierce superpower, making the most strategic personal and professional moves for yourself and your family. Of course, you have it all together, there’s nothing missing, and nothing broken and yes yes to #goodvibesonly!……but as the new year rapidly approaches, what if you adopt a new method of operation…. what if….

you reconnected with the softer side of life while still remaining impactful.

As for me, I’ve spent most of my adult life as a mom, a caretaker, a business owner and devoted family member, which means I’ve had to be a leader, teacher, mentor, and supporter among many other things.

It’s easy to activate a super focused mindset and get into the mode of doing, doing, doing.

If this sounds like you, I challenge you to get back to being, being, being.

Being loved, being heard, being valued, and being seen for who you are, and not for what you can do.

In all honesty, I too look forward to reconnecting with gentleness toward self. I’ve heard after a few adjustments; the experience is quite invigorating.

Next week I am kicking off the 7 Day Purify Challenge. It’s the perfect time to release the old and create a welcoming space for gentleness and compassion.

I only have space for 5 participants to take the challenge with me. If you would like to join me, click the link below to learn more.

Have you joined the Sister Support Circle yet?

Spiritual and Emotional trauma are just two of the often-ongoing consequences of experiencing a breast cancer diagnosis. My program, Managing Life After Crisis is a program designed to help women who have experienced crisis; heal from the experience, recover by managing resistance to healing and grow by implementing practical life strategies that promote confidence to progress through life with peaceful and positive intentions toward self.

This Sunday during the Sister Support Circle, we’re focusing on self-reflective processes that examine the relationship between trauma and healing, while utilizing creativity and peer support to create a healing framework.

Are you a breast cancer Survivor? If so, join the Circle to receive support and stay in the Circle to provide support.

The next 5 breast cancer Survivor’s to join The Sister Support Circle will receive a copy of the book, Manifesting Dreams, An Intention-Setting Guided Workbook.

Change Your Mind

Realizing it has been several weeks since my last check-in, let me first start by saying…Hello Origins of Peace Family!

I hope you are well; I pray things have been working in your favor and I wish blessings upon blessings on your life.

So where have I been? I’ve been doing all the things. Coaching, Consulting, Organizing, Developing and Facilitating!  The grand thing about it all is that I love what I do.

I’ve been showing up in new spaces, introducing the world to Origins of Peace and the peace methodologies that I use to conduct business.

I’ve been demonstrating the art of softness in my message, my work, my thoughts and actions.

I’ve been shedding the belief that business has to be corporate, buttoned up and hardcore all of the time. I have to admit that it feels great!

You may be under the impression that in order to be taken seriously in your business your message has to be perfect, your brand has to show consistency in all areas, and you have to complete a 10-point check list of things to do before implementing.

Truthfully, none of these things has to be perfect for you to make an impact.

Romans 12:4 says “For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function”…

We all have unique talents and different areas of influence. Focus on your strengths and allow The Law of Process and The Law of Addition to work in your favor.

What are you focusing on today? Are you ready to get started?

If you’ve been on the fence about starting something new because you do not feel qualified enough, it’s okay to

Change Your Mind

We each have different areas of influence and we inspire in a variety of ways.

You are strong, you are powerful, you are brave, you are capable, you are worthy, you are entitled, you are prepared, and you are worth the effort it takes to make your dream a reality.

Once you take the first step toward your next, all of the elements that you need to refine your vision will start falling into place.

Trust the process of next and keep pushing forward.

If you are ready to move forward and peacefully create your next, I would love to help you create the blueprint for your something new.

Let’s discuss your next. Is it a new career path, new business, or something else that you are interested in?

Now is the time to plan and create.

Let’s work!

Let’s talk about Creative Freedom

Happy Sunday to you!

Today I am sharing one final lesson from my eBook Pray with Ease.

Creative Freedom

Exercising Creative Freedom is much like wandering and exploring.

Have you ever taken a long walk in the woods or through a botanical garden? Maybe you’re adventurous and like to hike alongside a mountain waterfall.

When you have creative freedom in God’s word, it’s much like an exploration. You can freely move at your own pace and immerse yourself in everything that is around you while expressing your gratitude for the experience.

Creative Freedom allows you to be bold, powerful and intentional. Once you set your intentions and find your Energy Enhancers take a moment to immerse yourself in the words. Explore the scriptures and feel the inspiration that is embedded within.

Focused Intention + Energy Enhancers + Creative Freedom = The Ability to Pray with Easy

You are now ready to pray those bold, powerful, impactful prayers!

Here is a list of a few of my favorite tools for enhancing spiritual wellness:

  • T.D. Jakes Woman Thou Art Loosed Bible

  • The Bible Experience Old & New Testament

  • Woman Evolve by Sarah Jakes Roberts

  • Journal & Writing Pen

I wish you great success in all of your endeavors.
