Use this resource to help add structure to your day and maintain a sense of peace when things become overwhelming. Start your day with a heartfelt prayer and then leverage your strengths and values to create a strong personal and professional strategy when life and work become exhausting.

Prayer:

Dear Lord,

There is so much value in feeling included. Let today be a day of collaboration and inclusivity for me. Allow me to thrive in new spaces that are welcoming and those that honor and appreciate my abilities. Let this day be the start of a new chapter, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Value: Inclusion

When you embrace the value of Inclusion, you intentionally create spaces where individuals or groups can be and feel welcomed, respected, supported, and valued to fully participate and bring their full, authentic selves to work.

Self-Care Tip of the Day: Affirm the type of day that you want to experience.

“I live an exceptional life without regret. I am focused, disciplined and persistent. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I am achieving even more success now. Today will be a great day.” – Adrienne Reynolds

In the news:

When spaces of inclusion are created, and people are allowed to show up and work, in their truest form, the most unique things can happen. Ubiquitous Energy has created a glass that is also capable of producing solar power. This means that many of the skyscrapers that house some of the most powerful corporations in our nation, might also double as a power generating facility, in the near future.

You’ve got to feel extremely comfortable to show up to work with this idea. I think it’s absolute genius and I applaud the powers that be, who provided the space for the brilliance to develop.

Tips for advancement:

  • Allow room for unique ideas and unique ways of thinking

  • Never criticize a person for doing things differently from you, if the work is being done

  • If you feel like that your workplace lacks inclusion, be innovative and think of creative ways to make everyone feel included

Coming to the Stage

“Life can hand you a fist full of sorrow and a heart full of hurt.
However, God is concerned about your state of mind. Your feelings matter to Him and He is genuinely interested in those issues that concern you. Remember in the book of Genesis, God
visited Adam in the cool of the evening. The same love that was extended to Adam is available
to you.

Every battle and struggle we contend with has already been settled in Heaven.
I pray that you use God’s word to achieve success, peace, and empowerment in your daily life.
May this book serve as an instrument for you to pray the Word of God and not pray your worries to Him”.

Will I See You on the Peloton Leaderboard?

Use this resource to help add structure to your day and maintain a sense of peace when things become overwhelming. Start your day with a heartfelt prayer and then leverage your strengths and values to create a strong personal and professional strategy when life and work become exhausting.

Prayer:

It’s a new week, Lord and I want to be included. I pray for deeper connections that will lead to new opportunities and continuous growth. I pray that any attitudes or perceptions that are blocking me from reaching new heights are removed. I thank you for surrounding me with people who want to see me win and excel. Cleanse my heart and mind so that I can see you in all that I do. In Jesus name. Amen.

Value: Belonging

The value of belonging is essential in the workplace because it impacts business performance, your personal performance and your overall well-being. You show up best for yourself and others when you feel a sense of security and confidence that you can be your true self. Do you have a sense of belonging in your workplace? If not, are there steps that you can take to improve that?

Self-Care Tip of the Day: Find Your People

Surround yourself with people who build you up and are truly invested in seeing you win. Take an assessment of your relationships to determine who is for you and who is not.

Daily Professional Goal:

To embrace a true feeling of belonging at work, get involved. Most companies have volunteer opportunities and employee resource groups that you can benefit from. Make time to take advantage of those opportunities and join those groups. This will help to broaden your perspective about the company, and put you in front of a wider variety of people. Being involved helps build that sense of community and belonging.

In the news:

During the Covid-19 shutdown, I became a Peloton Queen. I bought a treadmill, clocked at least 3 miles daily and had a really good time enjoying the on-demand classes while seeing my name creep up the leaderboard. Marcel and Robin were my two favorite instructors and I simply could not get enough of them and Peloton. I bought into the hype and so did many others, all around the world.

Peloton made millions during this time.

Fast forward to today, I still love my Peloton, but I am currently on the sick and shut down list. An injured Achilles has kept me off of my treadmill for quite some time. Just like my engagement to my Peloton has decreased, so has the sales and production of Peloton bikes and treads.

The company recently cut 15% of its staff and reported $439 million in losses. You can read more about this story by clicking here.

Since the pandemic has ended, many have returned to in person gym activities. I personally still have an allegiance to my machine, and I look forward to reconnecting as soon as my PT gives me the thumbs up. I guess my loyalty stems from the sense of belonging that I was able to create with my tread when the rest of the world was closed.

Tips for advancement:

  • Find clarity and understand how you are truly showing up in the workplace

  • Ask yourself if there are changes that you can make to improve your work relationships and how you show up

  • If you feel there are bigger issues involved that are keeping you from showing up as your true self, seek the help of a Professional Development Coach or Therapist.

This Morning I Met a Fairy

Prayer:

Dear Lord,

Your word says that I am uniquely and wonderfully made. Knowing this, I ask for wisdom and discernment to allow my unique gifts to shine through. I thank you for welcoming spaces and removed timidness. I thank you for open dialogue and room for growth and acceptance. I thank you for those much-needed nuggets of wisdom that keep me motivated and moving in the right direction. Lead me oh Lord, In Jesus Name. Amen.

Value: Uniqueness

Embrace your uniqueness by knowing what sets you apart from the crowd. How are you different, and what can you do to use that to your advantage?

Self-Care Tip of the Day: Speak Your Truth

What is your truth? What makes you happy? What brings you joy? What brings tears to your eyes?

It’s important to know these things about yourself and to embrace them. After your confident with who you are, Speak on it! Let others know who you are and what you stand for?

Daily Professional Goal:

This morning, I attended a networking event, and the role that I chose to present was Melissa Rivers, the Corporate Consultant. After a few introductions and hearing others share about their business, I began to adjust my narrative. See, I am so much more than a corporate consultant, I am a Creative Peace Coach. I often bypass sharing my self-assigned title because most people don’t get it. I learned today that the “get it” is in the story and not the title. One of the people that I met this morning stated that her cover page on LinkedIn is a Fairy because it truly represents her attitude and demeanor, and she chooses to show up authentically. After returning from my networking event, I updated my LinkedIn Cover and job title to Melissa A. Rivers, Creative Peace Coach. I bet if you google, you will not find another.

The truth is, I help highly exhausted, overwhelmed professionals find peace by taking inventory of where they currently are in life and work, the challenges they face each day and then take action to add more peaceful moments to their daily routine. That’s me, that’s what I do, and it brings me great joy!

Tips for advancement: Show up Authentically

Don’t allow fear to keep you stuck in a position or with a title that doesn’t fully represent your uniqueness and authenticity.

You’ve Got to Be More Careful

Prayer:

Dear Lord,

Help me to walk in authority this week. Show me how to present myself, my work and my business with integrity. Place me in spaces that value my insight and welcome my input. Give me discernment to act in accordance to your will for my present and future, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Value: Integrity

Exhibit the value of Integrity by being honest, truthful and consistent with your words and actions.

In the News:

Have you heard the news about Netflix and Facebook’s alleged secret agreement which allowed Netflix to access private user conversations from Facebook Messenger? If not, read all about it by clicking here. This story is still developing, however, if you’re having in-depth conversations in Messenger that you hope to keep confidential, you might want to go ahead and logout!

In my opinion, this action violates every code of ethics and lacks integrity. What do you think Netflix will do with your conversations, if in fact this article is true. Do you think this agreement between the two mega enterprises is acceptable? Leave a comment and let me know you thoughts.

Next Steps to Take: Protect Yourself on Social Media

  • Avoid clicking unfamiliar links. Be sure to double-check and verify

  • Don’t share personal information with strangers

  • Only use public Wi-Fi when it is secure

  • Use a VPN

  • Avoid public Charging Stations and USB Ports

“I Gotta Get to a Place of Peace for Me”

Prayer:

Today, I have the utmost faith that things are working for my good. No matter what it may look like or feel like, I am anchored in the reassurance that it is well with me.

In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Value: Faith

Faith is important because it provides structure to who you are, your existence, and your hopes and dreams. It allows you to brace for life’s storms and to understand that life is full of uncertainty and not every situation will result in a positive outcome in your favor. Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.

Self-Care Tip of the Day: Speak this Affirmation Aloud

“I live an exceptional life without regret. I am focused, disciplined and persistent. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I am achieving even more success now. Today will be a great day.

Derived from: Planning Positive, 90 Day Planner for Positive Living by Adrienne Reynolds, CEC

Daily Professional Goal:

Decide what freedom in your career should look like and determine the actions you need to take, in order to achieve your desires.

In the news:

In the March issue of Better Homes & Gardens, Tabitha Brown talks about her freedom walk. She states that her freedom walk started because she was sick and desperate to feel better. She suffered from inflammation, a chronic headache for a year and seven months, and back pain spasms throughout her body. Tabitha states that she decided to try one last time to really connect with herself and with God to get to a place of peace.

This article about Tabitha Brown and her freedom walk resonated with me so much. I am currently on a journey finding my course to freedom. I’ve taken great steps forward in the right direction and I’ve also experienced some true wilderness moments. I recently heard on a podcast that strong women don’t often take time to understand what causes their pain, they simply apply a bandage and keep moving. This is so true. As I reflect this morning on my need to enforce boundaries, maintain peaceful spaces and take time each day to check-in with myself, it is so apparent that I still have much to learn and do in this area. Click here to read the full article about Tabitha and be sure to advocate for yourself today.
