Because He Lives!

Matthew 28:5-The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here, he has risen, just as he said.

If Jesus had not risen from the grave, we would be doomed to a life of darkness, sin, inequity and death. If Jesus still lay in the tomb, there would be no hope for humanity and no pardon for sin. Jesus could have stayed in his tomb and not even bothered to give this sin-sick world another thought….But He Rose!

Because Jesus rose from the grave, we have power over death, darkness and sin. Because Jesus rose, as believers in him and his ministry, we have been positioned to rise above the enemy. Because Jesus rose, we have full confidence that grace and mercy chase after us!

The Word of God says…Jesus is able to keep us from falling and to present us before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy! In the tomb, there is no glory, no presence and no joy, only darkness.  In Jesus, there is love, forgiveness of sin and miracles forever more!

Jesus rose for me and for you, celebrate him on this Holy Easter Day!

“Because he lives, I can face tomorrow”

“Because he lives, all fear is gone”

“Because I know, he holds the future”

“And life is worth the living, just because he lives”

~Happy Easter, Happy Resurrection…May God continue to Bless you and Keep you~

Crown Him Lord!

John 19: 2 The soldiers twisted together a crown of thorns and put it on his head. They clothed him in a purple robe and went up to him again and again, saying, “Hail, king of the Jews!” And they struck him in the face.

With this, Pilate handed Jesus over to the crowd and they shouted…crucify him! Jesus was led away to be crucified on a hill called Golgotha (Calvary). As he hang on the cross, he bore all of our sins. All the deception, all the hate, all the murder, all the lies, any such horrific thing that you could ever imagine, Jesus bore them all. He stood in the gap for me and for you and he did it out of love. He knew that we did not posses the power to save ourselves from a life and an eternity of hell, so he did it for us!

As the hours passed by and scripture was fulfilled, Jesus gave up his spirit. He finished the work that God had purposed him to accomplish. He saved all of humanity! He reconciled a lost creation back to the creator.

Family, on this day..we celebrate the life, the legacy, the sacrifice and the love of Jesus. This day which is so loving called Good Friday or Preparation day, is a day to remember. On the mission field Jesus touched the lives of many people and many witnessed the love and mercy that he showed. Jesus took the time to minister to people at their place in life. He went to the cities, to the wilderness, to the well and to houses of those who were hurting and in need. Those who believed and had faith were healed and those who rejected his word were given over to their own beliefs and desires.

Jesus gives us all free choice and freewill, it’s up to you!

If you are reading this post and have yet to declare Jesus as Lord of your life, you can pray this simple prayer and have full confidence that he hears your plea:

Dear God, I know that my sin has separated me from you. Thank you that Jesus Christ died in my place. I ask Jesus to forgive my sin and to come into my life. Please begin to direct my life. Thank you for giving me eternal life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.   For reference read Romans 3:23-26

Remember your sin can never out weigh the love of God! He made you, He knows you, He loves you, He sustains you and he wants to spend eternity with you!

And a Happy New Year!

1 John 1:5-7 This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. NIV

Wow, another year to glorify God and Praise him for all his goodness! In 2011, many of us experienced turmoil in our lives. I pray that 2012 be a year of peace guided by the light of God. Declare over yourself and your family that 1. God is light and in him there is no darkness and 2. It is his good and perfect will that we live in truth, walk in light and are purified by the blood of his son Jesus!

The number 12 represents wholeness, wellness and perfection! In 2012 walk in your whole, perfect and complete blessings and realize that all your suffered  and endured in 2011 was just a set up for your next miracle!

I pray that God continues to richly bless you and may you never grow weary in well-doing. God is good and worthy to be praised! Make him your top priority on your list of resolutions!

Much Love,

~SuGa~

What about the Hope?

Seems like every media outlet is determined to send out the “bad news” about marriage. Just the other day on the radio, the D.J. asked the question, “why are people choosing not to marry?” Some of the many reasons included issues with finances, trust, intimacy, control and infidelity. My question is, “What about the Hope?”  Romans 5:1-2 “We have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ…And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Being a daughter of the “Most High God”, I really enjoy rejoicing in the hope of HIS Glory and because of this one reason, I am determined to show up each day in my marriage. I believe that when we make things that are important to God, important to us, we give him full access to work in our lives. In the book of Genesis, when Adam and Eve did not obey the commands of God, they were cursed and in the book of II Samuel, David was determined to return the Ark to its rightful place because he understood, without God as the foundation, the City could not function properly. As a society, we have to return God to his rightful place.

Proverbs 31 Ministries had a great post on their blog today, entitled “Affair Proof Your Mind”. I enjoyed it so much that I am going to post it here for your reading enjoyment. I also recommend www.marriagetoday.org for married couples and singles alike. It’s a wonderful ministries and helps individuals get a better understanding of the dynamics that effect marriage.  Be Blessed and keep rejoicing in the Hope of HIS Glory!  ~SuGa~

Affair Proof Your Mind Lysa TerKeurst

“Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak.” Matthew 26:41 (NIV 1984)

As a woman thinks…so she eventually acts.

A few years ago I watched a friend get tangled up in an emotional affair.

She was a strong Christian woman who loved her family but the attraction to this other man seemed unavoidable. She tried to talk herself out of it but her heart played tricks on her mind and the justifications for letting things go just a little further soon led her to a very dangerous place. She was becoming emotionally attached to this other man.

In a moment of desperation and fear, she confided in me what was going on.

As she described how she got pulled into this place, I found myself being challenged by the realization of how subtly this had happened. She hadn’t planned on being emotionally attracted to this other man. As a matter of fact, she’d always prided herself on being a woman of strong conviction and had scoffed at the idea of ever being tempted to have an affair.

It starts off simple enough – a comment made that you mull over one too many times, a conversation in which you find a surprising connection, a glance that lingers just a second too long, or one of a thousand other interactions that seem innocent yet aren’t. These are the dangerous seeds that can easily sprout into an emotional affair.

Some think it is a safe way to enjoy the lure of being attracted to someone other than your spouse without crossing any lines. But God boldly and plainly says in 1 Corinthians 6:18, “Flee from sexual immorality.” God doesn’t say walk away from sexual immorality. No, He says to flee as if your very life is at stake!

Our thoughts are so powerful. If we want to affair proof our marriages, we must make our thoughts work for us instead of against us.

The time to prevent an emotional affair is before it ever starts.

We must never assume it could never happen to me. We are all just a few poor choices away from doing things we never thought we would.

Jesus warned his disciples in Matthew 26: 41,”Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak.”

The Life Application NIV Bible commentary says, “Jesus used Peter’s drowsiness to warn him about the kinds of temptation he would soon face. The way to overcome temptation is to keep watch and pray. Watching means being aware of the possibilities of temptation, sensitive to the subtleties, and spiritually equipped to fight it.”

Watching: I now realize that I need to be aware that I am just as prone to this temptation as anyone. One of the best ways to be watchful is to be praying with and for my husband. We need to be open and honest about meeting each other’s needs and investing wisely in our marriage.

Sensitive to the Subtleties: I will have to be honest with myself that temptations do exist. When another man says or does something I wish my husband would say or do and doesn’t, it can make me lessen my husband in my heart and build up this other man. This is a seed of poison.

Spiritually Equipped: I must park my mind with the truth and the truth is I am married to an amazing man. He is not perfect and sometimes our marriage can be hard, but I made a commitment to him in a covenant before God and there are no biblical reasons in our marriage why we should ever part.

My friend did the hardest but wisest thing she could have done in telling me about her emotional affair. It helped her to see she needed to flee and have someone else hold her accountable. But it also helped me. Her admission made me aware and alert to the dangers lurking in any kind of unhealthy emotional connection with another man.

Dear Lord, may I forever treasure my marriage and see it worthy to be protected. Help me to be a courageous woman who absolutely flees from any and every situation where there is even a hint of danger. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

“The Eyes of the Lord”

2 Chronicles 16:9 “The Eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.”

In my weakness, you make me strong

You dismiss my doubts with confidence

When I feel lost, you remind me of who you created me to be.

Dear Lord, I thank you for your goodness. You are a merciful God. I am constantly amazed at your power but for everything that you’ve done in my life, I know that you are willing, ready and able to do more.  Father God, my heart is committed to serving you. Strengthen me Lord as only you can. Help me to be mindful that every breath that I breathe is for your Glory. I thank you for being ever-present in my life and seeing me as only you can. I thank you for never leaving me and I praise your holy name because you are an awesome God. Father there are many hurting souls in this world. Please show me how to be a living testimony for those in need. Show me how to walk as a blameless example of your goodness. Show me how to communicate with a pure heart and a right mind. Father help me to see that none of this is about me but all praises and honor belong to you! You are a great God! In Jesus Name….~Amen~

I love you so much,

The Gift that keeps on Giving!

It’s been estimated that an astounding 52.4 billion dollars were spent this past weekend on the latest clothing trends, electronics and toys. I imagine it took focus and determination to find the sales and then stand in line for hours to make the purchase. I personally am not a fan of Black Friday but I do not pass judgement on anyone who decided to take advantage of the great sales opportunities…..However……

I would like to throw a challenge your way… For the next 30 days let’s get even more excited for Christ. What if each one of us determined in our mind to lead at least one person to Salvation! What a birthday celebration we would have on Christmas Day. I know Heaven celebrates each time 1 soul gets saved but imagine the glorious “pentecostal movement” we could make happen! We can shake some things up!

Leading another to Christ is very simple: Memorize this short prayer and have the person that you are ministering to repeat it after you.

Dear God, I know that my sin has separated me from you. Thank you that Jesus Christ died in my place. I ask Jesus to forgive my sin and to come into my life. Please begin to direct my life. Thank you for giving me eternal life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

It’s that simple! For  further reference: Romans 10:9-13

The Power in Unity

The Power in Unity

Genesis 11:1, 6

“Now, the whole world had one language and a common speech.

“The Lord said, “If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them.”

When we all speak the same language, we can accomplish great things. God himself said there is nothing impossible for them….

This holds true in our relationships, whether it be family, friends, co-workers or whomever.

Unity is the key to keeping the dream alive and what is the dream…to be blessed by God, to be fruitful and to increase in number! When we speak the same language, such as; establishing goals and strategies for our family to succeed, we accomplish greatness!

Disclaimer: I do not suggest you go and build a tower up to Heaven and try to make a name for yourself but I do recommend sitting down with your family, taking time to pray and establishing some God principles. This way, we can all get on the same page, speak the same language and accomplish great things!

The Covenant has already been established!

Much Love,

Inspiration

Jeremiah 20:9 But if I say, “I will not mention him or speak anymore in his name, “his word is in my heart like a fire, a fire shut up in my bones. I am weary of holding it in indeed, I cannot.

Inspiration

This gift you have given me, I cannot take for granted

Years of molding and shaping me, on fertile soil it was planted

Your whispers are sweet and fill my heart with inspiration

One mention of Your Holy name and I get motivation

Your Word is hidden so deep in my heart

My mind begins to wonder and my pencil will start

Dictating the thoughts that you bring to my mind.

Your love for me is genuine, so caring and so kind

Your boundary lines for me, mark out pleasant places

I share the message of your love and watch the faces

Of those who believe and those new to your word

The Good News of Jesus is the best news we’ve heard

I am proud to spread the message about you my dear Savior

I am humbled and blessed to walk in your favor

If I were unable to write of your ways,

My mind would ponder on how to fill my days

Lost without you would be my banner,

So thankful am I not live in this manner!

Amen~To God Be The Glory!

He’s Able

He’s Able

As the songstress began to sing…”Exceedingly, Abundantly, Above all, you can ask or think”…..I immediately began to weep. Those words only hold true for one and that is my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  As the remainder of the choir joined in, I was drawn to my feet as being lifted by angels. My hands started waving and my tears continued to flow. Not only was I ecstatic just to be in God’s presence, I felt especially loved and catered to. Last week was a really heavy week for me, seems like all kinds of trials and traps were just lurking around trying to lure me in. The more I worshipped God, the more I wept. The more I wept, the more I could feel His warm embrace, renewing my mind, repairing my heart and fellowshipping with my spirit! God is awesome!

As the choir continued…”According to the power that worketh through you and me; God is able to do just what he said he would do, He’s gonna fulfill every promise to you”…”Don’t give up on God, cause he won’t give up on you…He’s Able!”  The more they sang He’s Able, the more I shouted He’s Able!

In a suddenly moment, my tears stopped flowing and my peace was still. God gave me a peace that surpassed all that I could ever imagine. It was so surreal but so welcome. I wanted to hold on to that moment for as long as I could. As I heard the phrase “He’s Able” in two separate instances from the song at church, I knew this was God’s confirmation that I need to stop trying to figure out what he’s already worked out! I have a tendency to try and connect the dots and make all the pieces of a puzzle line up perfectly but God reminded me yet again that he works things out according to HIS power, not mine.

God said to me, “Melissa, if I can part the Red Sea on command…I can take care of you. If I can command the Sun to rise and set and the moon to appear, surely I can take care of you. If I can command a Shepard boy to defeat a giant with a slingshot and a rock, I can take care of you! Remember how Sampson defeated that army with the jawbone of a donkey, yeah that was my doing, so surely I can take care of you.

God reminds me that he does not have to construct some magnificent plan to work in my life, he can and will use those silly unexpected things!

Thank you Lord and thank you LeRoy Dean for calling me out of my isolation!
